Harness the power of storytelling and get your message heard.

An interactive hands-on workshop style program that explains why storytelling is so important and shares a range of practical storytelling tools for transforming a (dusty) marketing message into an engaging and memorable story.

Who should attend 

Any marketer responsible for communicating new ideas and driving change – ideally 3+ years experience. (Especially suitable for marketers who feel their ideas aren’t understood or recognised by their key stakeholders).

Topics Covered

  1. Warm up – 3 P’s tool (Plot line, picture, point of interest)
  2. Theory of story telling (5T’s – timeline, turning point, tension, temptation, teachable)
  3. Story telling toolkit (Hook/Engage/Action, Hero’s journey, SCQA, Perfect pitch)
  4. Hands on- practical application to your chosen topic
  5. Tips and tricks
  6. Q&A/Feedback

Homework – in advance, attendees are required to have identified a business issue or idea that they are keen to communicate to stakeholders in their organisaion.

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to

  • • Understand the role of story telling in business communication
  • • select a story telling tool that’s appropriate for their challenge
  • • apply it to the communication challenge of their choosing
  • • enhance it with illustrations, metaphors and anecdotes
