Experience the best marketing practices in Tasmania

The 2021 AMI Marketing Excellence Experience (TAS) event will be a highlight of the industry events calendar in 2021 – combining the best thought leadership and networking opportunities the state has to offer for marketing professionals who want to be inspired and connected.

The interactive event experience is designed to inspire industry members and foster new connections.

Highlights of the event will include a case study on Blundstone's 150-anniversary campaign. The event will also be a fantastic opportunity to be the first to hear who are the finalists of the 2021 AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence in Tasmania!

CASE STUDY

In 2020 Blundstone turned 150. For the first time ever, the business wanted to align its overseas markets in a global campaign that spoke to a single brand to consumer proposition. The aim was to honour the story of Blundstone, past and present and lay a challenge for the future. Alex will talk through this campaign's key considerations and development and touch on the added complexities in delivering the campaign during COVID-19.

Alex McKeand is the head of Global Brand Services, Communications and Digital at Blundstone. Alex leads a small team of specialists who support the brand and product delivery in over 70 countries around the globe.

Alex has extensive experience in both public and private industries, including finance, tourism, and infrastructure, including proven success in both B2B and B2C marketing and brand positioning for both domestic and global platforms.

At Blundstone, Alex has created the Global Brand Services framework and team, led the company through a digital transition, and launched the brand's first global campaign for their 150th anniversary in 2020. Alex is a skills-based Director for both Fahan School and Family Planning Tasmania.
