The 2021 AMI Marketing Excellence Experience (SA) event will be a highlight of the industry events calendar in 2021 – combining the best thought leadership and networking opportunities the state has to offer for marketing professionals who want to be inspired and connected.
The interactive event experience is designed to inspire industry members and foster new connections. Highlights of the event will include a panel discussion on best marketing practice and successful campaigns, as well as keynotes from SA 2020 Marketing Excellence Award winning campaign - Kidchella: State Winner for Market and Consumer Research.
The event will also be a great opportunity to be the first to hear who are the finalists of the 2021 AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence in South Australia!

Anna-Louise has significant experience at Executive and Board level across a diverse range of private and public sector industries including retail, major events, sport, economic development, vocational education and training, health and beauty, and the charity sector.
Her extensive experience in strategic retail marketing and communications, stakeholder engagement and transformational leadership have been key in delivering growth and success for some of South Australia’s largest privately owned retail property groups.
Delivering effective and highly creative marketing campaigns that captivates tenants, communities and drives a strong ROI drives her passion for working for JLL.
A highlight of her career in Adelaide includes launching the inaugural, award-winning, Kidchella at Marina Pier, Holdfast Bay, which was an outstanding success with 3,000 attendees and an online reach of 173,000.
She recently showed real innovation and creativity supporting tenants through Covid-19. Mindful campaigns such as The Great SA Giveaway, Takeaway at the Bay, Virtual Cocktail Masterclass and Online Kids Zone showed Anna-Louise’s skills in marketing in a crisis.
Anna-Louise is a Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) and a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.
Dr Margaret Faulkner - 2020/21 AMI Judge & Panellist

Dr Margaret Faulkner is a Senior Marketing Scientist at the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute at University of South Australia. Margaret has worked on projects ranging from examining distinctive assets for global brands to helping local not-for-profits avoid wasting precious resources on ineffective marketing practices.
Her research has been published in various academic journals. She is a Certified Practicing Marketer of the Australian Marketing Institute, Fellow of the Governor's Leadership Foundation in South Australia and has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course: Governance Foundations for the Not-for-Profit Directors.
Christopher Villani - Panellist

Graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Marketing and Communication from the University of South Australia, Christopher’s’ marketing career began with the acclaimed Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science. Working with the world’s best marketing scientists set the foundations for the marketing knowledge Christopher has utilised for local, national and international brands.
Holding numerous senior marketing roles in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, Christopher has worked in a diverse range of industries including FMCG, alcohol, retail, non-for-profit, government, and tourism. Since returning to South Australia, Christopher has set up the marketing division at Foodland, while holding a key Executive Leadership position. From advertising to pricing, Christopher uses a broad set of marketing skills to ensure Foodland remains the number one independent supermarket in Australia. In addition, Christopher has sat on multiple boards/committees and is an industry supervisor for a marketing PhD candidate at the University of South Australia.

Penelope is a strategic executive with over 20 years’ experience in supporting ambitious start-ups and businesses with an appetite for growth. An experienced leader, board director, business owner and advisor, she brings a wealth of experience across all areas of a business from marketing to operations, capital raising to people and culture.
Recently appointed as a Chief Operating Officer at innovative LED lighting and energy scale-up, VALO Corporation, Penelope works closely with the executive to build the team and lead operational foundations for growth. VALO is a privately owned South Australian company focusing on local research, development, and high-tech manufacturing with its sights set on operating on the global stage.
Prior to joining VALO, Penelope was an Executive Director and Head of Corporate Services of energy tech start-up 1414 Degrees (ASX:14D), which listed in 2018. She founded and sold a marketing agency which also assisted start-ups and SMEs in the pursuit of growth. Penelope is a Member and Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), has a Bachelor of Business, is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute (FAMI) and a Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM). Penelope was a judge for the AMI Awards for Marketing Excellence in 2021.
