Russel Howcroft, 3AW Breakfast Radio Co-Host and Marketing Expert

Over a long career in media and marketing, Russel has been one of the most prominent voices for the power and cultural/economic importance of advertising, particularly through his role as a panellist on the ABC’s Gruen program and fronting the documentary series How Australia Got Its Mojo.

His current roles include being a presenter on Melbourne’s no.1 rated 3AW radio breakfast program, chair of the Australian Film Television and Radio School and the cofounder of The Grid Melbourne.

He has held multiple senior roles across the industry having served as PwC’s first Chief Creative Officer (facilitating PwC's investment in agency of the year, Thinkerbell), Executive General Manager at Network 10, served as a board director on the ASX-listed Enero and as CEO of one of Australia’s leading agency groups, Y&R Brands where he was also a member of the global management team.



Kate Young, Executive Manager – Marketing Strategy and Capability – ANZ

Kate Young is Executive Manager – Marketing Strategy & Capability at ANZ and has been with the banking group for over seven years. Kate started with ANZ as Head of Consumer Finance Marketing in 2016 and was promoted to her current role in 2019.

Kate is driving cultural change at ANZ by putting customers at the heart of all her work. She is passionate about bringing together cross-functional, enterprising purposeful teams using a customer-centric perspective. 

A strategic marketing and capability building professional with over 25 years of experience, Kate has worked across industries including financial services, retail property management, health and wellbeing, hospitality and tourism. Her expertise spans B2B, B2B2C and B2C roles in large organisations, including Westfield, GE Capital and AIA Australia, making her a sought-after podcast guest and conference MC and speaker.
